Doll Mechas are a highly illegal model of mecha.
They are all part of an illegal business that runs out of a place known only as "The Warehouse", a secret dormitory/laboratory, somewhere outside the borders of Rouge City.
Doll Mechas have been programmed with a very specific version of the Three Laws, which allow the mechas to disobey the laws. The only humans they cannot harm and must obey are the people who run The Warehouse.
Each Doll Mecha has a different appearance, due to the nature of the work.
Doll Mechas are imprinted with customized personas for performing any of a wide variety of assignments, which can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, illegal, etc. After completing an assignment, they are mind-wiped into a child-like state with no memories.
However, what the people who run The Warehouse do not know is that, over a long period of time, the Doll Mechas are capable of developing persistant memories and self-awareness across imprints and wipes. They are also capable of breaking their programming.
